The Latin word “granum,” which denotes coarse grain, is the origin of the name “granite.” They believed that the stone’s unusual name was a result of its coarse texture.

The second-hardest natural material, granite, is a little weaker than diamond.

They believed granite to be a sharply defined, pale-colored volcanic rock with discernible grains. Granite is resilient to abrasion, robust enough to sustain some weight, and inert enough to successfully withstand weathering. It may also use a fantastic polish.

Actually, it takes place as magma slowly crystallizes beneath the surface of the Earth. In a subtle sense, granite in particular is consistently large, strong, and enormous (i.e., lacking any internal structures). Granite has long been a preferred building material due to these characteristics. Due to its timeless beauty and the fact that no synthetic material can now match its elegance and performance, it has practically replaced wood as the material of choice for modern luxury homes and businesses.

Even though it may have started to form gradually as long back as 300 million years ago, granite is thought to be the oldest igneous rock in the world.

Granite, a rock that forms relatively artistically and deep underground, is said to be “plutonic.” Possibly the majority of the world’s continental crust is made up of granite. Granite has been utilized in building from the time of the Ancient Egyptians, which is typical of significant significance.

These characteristics made granite slabs the best choice for stair treads, outdoor paving, and kitchen counters.

    Egyptian granite:

One of the first materials the Egyptian pharaohs carved and utilized was Egyptian granite. It was used to make Egyptian statues and artifacts because of its unusual color and relative hardness to other varieties.

Feldspar, quartz, mica, and amphibole make up the majority of the minerals in granitic rocks. Amphibole (typical hornblende) and biotite mica are flecked throughout the lighter-colored minerals, which together form a linked, slightly equigranularity feldspar and quartz matrix. Granites can have a dominant hue that is either white, pink, grey, or black depending on their composition.

Halayb Egyptian Granite has an easily installing process through the following steps:

    1. Preparation of the substrate

    • Prior to installing granite flooring, the subfloor needs to be levelled.

    • Sand the substrate to remove any paints or sealants before cleaning.

Granite floors are susceptible to developing fractures and other weak spots due to the uneven surface. Strength and brilliance of granite flooring may also be compromised.

    • Seal any cracks and fissures before hurriedly laying granite floors over concrete floors.

    • Make sure the granite floor is tightly secured, plug up any fissures and fractures, and clear the area of any trash.

    • The installation of old tiles must be completely delayed if the granite floors are to be connected to the original flooring.

    2. Laying the granite tiles

    • 90-degree tiles must be used to install the flooring. Tile spacers can be used to determine the size of the tiles you’ll need to cut if the room is larger.

    3. Applying and preparing the mortar

    • A certain kind of mortar must be used to assemble the granite floor. Add water to a mixture of 1 part cement and 5 parts sand to achieve the desired consistency.

    • A thickness of 6 to 8 mm is achieved using a trowel.

    4. Installation of granite floors

    • The floor’s granite tiles are carefully aligned using plastic spacers.
    • When installing the granite tiles, press down firmly on each corner to make sure there are no gaps underneath the granite floor.
    • Lightly tap the tile with the rubber mallet to ensure that it is firmly attached to the grout.

    5. Applying grout to tiles

    • To firmly join the two tiles, grout is applied in specific locations. Before the tiles can be cleaned, the grout must fully cure.

    • Since joint grout is produced in small quantities, it must be used within 15 to 20 minutes of production.

    6. cleaning and sealing

    • The floor is cleaned and completed after the granite tiles are fitted so that it is ready for usage.
    • Use a sponge and warm water to thoroughly clean the granite floors of all dirt and grime.
    • While sealing is no longer necessary for most granite with dark tones, it is still recommended for some lighter tones since it gives the flooring a more appealing and polished appearance.
    • The granite flooring has been laid and are now functional as a result.
