Quartz Countertops
Description
CIDG Egypt supplies and fabricates quartz countertops, engineered work surfaces built from roughly 90% ground natural quartz and high-performance resin. Quartz countertops give kitchens and bathrooms a hard, non-porous top that resists stains, scratches and heat marks while keeping a consistent colour from one slab to the next. We cut, edge and finish countertops to your measurements, so the surface arrives ready to install with sinks, hobs and waterfall ends already detailed.

Why choose quartz countertops
Quartz countertops combine the look of natural stone with the reliability of an engineered material. Because the slabs are manufactured under heat and pressure, the surface is dense and sealed throughout, so it will not absorb spills or harbour bacteria. Homeowners get a worktop that wipes clean, keeps its shine and needs no annual sealing. For designers and contractors, the predictable colour and strength make quartz countertops easy to specify across multiple units or a whole project.
Product Information
Quartz countertop properties and benefits
The engineered structure of quartz delivers practical advantages on any countertop:
- Non-porous: spills stay on the surface and wipe off, with no soaking or sealing.
- Stain resistant: coffee, oil, wine and acids leave no lasting marks.
- Scratch and impact resistant: handles knives, pans and daily kitchen use.
- Consistent colour: uniform tone across slabs for seamless runs and islands.
- Low maintenance: soap and water keep it clean; no sealing like natural stone needs.
These benefits make quartz a popular alternative to granite and marble for everyday work surfaces.

Quartz countertops frequently asked questions
How thick should a quartz countertop be?
Most kitchen quartz countertops are 2 cm or 3 cm thick. A 3 cm slab gives a more solid look and edge without a build-up, while 2 cm is common where a lighter profile or laminated edge is preferred. We help you choose based on cabinet runs and overhangs.
Can you put hot pans on a quartz countertop?
Quartz resists heat but is not heatproof. The resin binder can scorch under very high temperatures, so we recommend using trivets or pads for hot pans and trays to keep the surface flawless over time.
Do quartz countertops scratch easily?
No. Quartz is one of the harder countertop materials and resists everyday scratching from utensils and traffic. As with any surface, we still recommend a cutting board rather than slicing directly on the worktop.
