What is honed marble?

Honed marble is a finish created by grinding the stone’s surface with progressively finer abrasives until it is perfectly smooth and flat, but stopping before the buffing stage that would create a mirror polish. This produces a level, matte or satin surface that is silky to the touch yet non-reflective. Honing reveals the natural colours and veining of the marble in a softer, more muted way than a polished finish, avoiding harsh glare. Because the surface is flat and even, honed marble feels refined and understated, making it a versatile choice for both modern and classic interiors.
